Business success with Hunter Grinders-Whyte Lawnmowers & Garden Machinery

John Whyte, the proud owner of John Whyte Lawnmowers & Garden Machinery, has been steering his family-run business towards success for over 25 years. The story of his business is intertwined with the reliability and longevity of the Jupiter ATI Series 5 'All in One' Grinder from Hunter Grinders.

The Whyte family business, based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland, is a well-established and reputable provider of lawnmower and garden machinery services. With a commitment to excellence, they cater to jobs of all sizes, earning the trust of their customers over the years.

One pivotal moment in the journey of John Whyte Lawnmowers & Garden Machinery was the purchase of the Jupiter ATI back in 1992. In those early days, the concept of relief grinding was a mystery to many local golf clubs. John Whyte saw an opportunity, invested in the Hunter Grinder, and embarked on a journey that transformed his business.

“At that time there were a lot of golf clubs on our doorstep and none of them had ever heard of relief grinding. We bought the Jupiter, started doing some promotional work to get the word out there, and we went from strength to strength. Over the next few winters, we did thousands of inches of grinding. The grinder then became an integral part of the business. It built our business,” John explains.

The Jupiter ATI Series 5 'All in One' Grinder, a pinnacle of Hunter Grinders' craftsmanship, played a crucial role in the growth of John Whyte's business. This fully automatic relief and spin grinder, boasting automatic traverse, indexing, and in-feed, exemplifies precision grinding at its best.

Precision grinding is all about achieving the best possible result. With one machine, you can spin and relief grind returning cylinders and bottom blades back to the original manufacturer’s specification. Its automatic operation allows multitasking in the workshop, ensuring efficiency and productivity.

Over the years, John's confidence in the Jupiter grinder has only strengthened. "I wouldn’t have any other machine, and I have seen many of them. I still think the Jupiter is the best there is," he asserts proudly.

John's endorsement of the Jupiter ATI is not just based on its initial impact but also its enduring quality. He emphasises that the secret to the grinder's longevity lies in thorough maintenance. “You couldn’t expect the grinder to produce 100% accuracy every time without maintaining the grinder; the maintenance of the grinder is critical – and I carry out maintenance of it every autumn ahead of the busy season,” he shares.

As the pressure to deliver increases, John's decision to invest in a second Jupiter has proven prescient. "There is a lot of life left in both of them," he states confidently, reinforcing the idea that Hunter Grinders are not just machines; they are investments in the longevity and success of businesses like John Whyte Lawnmowers & Garden Machinery.
